History

Viking Wood Floors, at its inception in 1953, opened its doors under the ownership of Turner Litland. He moved to America from Norway to start a new life after World War 2. This was only the beginning of the honest and professional work that Viking has become synonymous with.

In 1983, his son, Robert Litland, took over. Continuing the tradition and maintaining the values set from the beginning, Robert expanded Viking to new heights serving clients all throughout Chatham, Florham Park, Short Hills, Essex Fells, Roseland, Livingston, Madison and Summit, as well as other communities in Morris, Hunterdon, Essex and Bergen Counties and beyond. Developing this consumer base has proven to create lasting customers who utilize Viking’s talents and professionalism for their home’s projects over many years.

Today, Viking Wood Floors continues as a family owned and operated business. This has enabled us to have a dynamic understanding of the area of New Jersey we do business in and evolve in this ever-advancing field of expertise. Also, it has aided in sustaining the traditional work ethic and honesty we strive to put into every project in which we are involved.

Viking Wood Floors is poised for proper growth and expansion in the coming years approaching our 60th year in business.
